Tour Players:
- Any member of a recognized pro mini tour
- Any member of the PGA
- Any club pro and apprentices working at a golf facility
- Any professional player that meets the qualifications
- Any amateurs with verifiable index of 2.0 or better. Amateurs will be paid in script not to exceed maximum allowed by USGA guidelines and NCGPT tour policy.
Format: All events will be stroke play (Unless other wise noted)
Tournament info:
- All regular season tournaments with 60 players will be three-day tournaments with a 2-day cut to top 1/3 rd and ties moving on to final round.
- ALL players making the cut will get a check!
- All regular season tournaments with 40 players will be three-day tournaments with a 2-day cut to top 1/3 rd and ties moving on to final round.
- ALL players making the cut will get a check!
- The Tour Championship will be a four-day tournament with the top 1/3rd money leaders from each series, there will be a 2-day cut to top 1/3rd of field and ties moving on to final two rounds. ALL players making the cut will get a check!
- If more or less than 60 players in a tournament, prize fund and cut lines will be adjusted accordingly. (See purse breakdown on website)
- All players must register and pay prior to the event deadline. If space is available after the deadline, and payment of the $1,000 late fee players will be allowed to sign-up on a first-come bases.
- Players may use caddies.
- All caddies must check in at registration. Only registered caddies will be allowed to carry a player’s bag and give advice.
Prize Money:
- Tournament purses are based on players’ entry fees per series, course fees, and added sponsor money.
- Purses will be adjusted based on the number of players- 40 being the minimum per series. (See purse breakdown on website)
- The NCPGT will payout 1/3rd of the field based on a standardized percentage scale created by the tour. The prize pool will be posted prior to the start of the tournament.
- Tour Championship and weekly prize pools will be determined by the total number of players in each series. Examples below.
320 players total – 80 per series = $75,000 per week and $350,000 Tour Championship = $1,550,000 Total
240 players total – 60 per series = $50,000 per week and $250,000 Tour Championship = $1,050,000 Total
160 players total – 40 per series = $35,000 per week and $200,000 Tour Championship = $760,000 Total
Any combination i.e. 40 players one series, 60 the next, 60 the next and 40 the next, for a total of 200 players will fall in between the numbers
above for the Tour Championship prize pool only.
In other words, 40 players still play for $35,000 a week and 60 players still play for $50,000 per week, etc.
- Everyone receiving a paycheck must fill out a W-9 (U.S. resident) or W-8 (non-resident alien) income tax form prior to receiving a check (no exceptions). W-9 and W-8 forms will be provided at registration.
- ALL CHECKS will be available at the next event, or will be mailed no more than one week after the last tournament in the series.
Rules of Play:
- The current USGA Rules of Golf and the tournament rules committee will govern play. Players will receive a tournament rules and information sheet prior to each event to help determine most rulings.
- In case of indecision the rules committee will make a final decision.
Place of Play:
- The NCPGT will monitor pace of play to ensure all rounds will be completed in a timely manner. The pace of play for a foursome is four hours and thirty minutes (15 minutes per hole).
Penalties:
- First offense - warning.
- Second offense - a one-stroke penalty.
- Third offense - an additional one-stroke penalty.
- Fourth offense - disqualification. (No exceptions)
Additional Rules and Policies:
- Range Finders - NCPGT will not allow range finder or GPS devices measuring yardage.
- Dress Code - Players must wear slacks or approved long pants. Tuck in mock-neck or collared golf shirts only. Soft spikes only. Hats must be worn forward.
- Caddie’s Dress Code - Shorts are ok provided they are hemmed and appropriate length. No denim or cut-offs allowed. Tuck in mock-neck or collared golf shirts only. Must wear tennis or walking shoes, NO golf shoes or flip-flops. Hats must be worn forward.
- Conduct - Unprofessional behavior by a player or caddie will not be tolerated, objectionable conduct, including club throwing, foul language, abuse of the golf course property, abuse of officials, alcohol or drug impaired behavior, or any conduct unbecoming a professional, will not be tolerated.
1st time warning.
2nd time- DQ with forfeiture of entry fees.
- Cell Phones - The use of cell phones is not permitted during competition unless authorized by a committee member to call for a rules decision, or a medical emergency. This policy includes players, caddies and spectators.
- Golf Balls - All players must use a brand and type of golf ball on the current USGA list of conforming balls and must mark their balls for identification. The one-ball condition set forth in Appendix 1 of the Rules of Golf is in effect during tournaments.
- Practicing - Players will not be allowed to practice putting on the putting surfaces after completion of a hole.
- Carts - Carts will not be allowed at events, unless designated by the rules committee. When carts are provided, all players must have their bag on a cart. A player may walk, but his clubs must be on a cart. Golf cart usage is for players only and is considered part of the player’s equipment. A non-player in the seat of a cart becomes the caddy for the player and is subject to the Rules of Golf concerning caddies/equipment.
Spectators and spectator carts will be allowed if the host course can provide them.
Spectator carts must stay on the cart paths at all times.
- Practice Rounds -The player will be in charge of setting up and paying for practice rounds with the host golf courses.
- Cancellations - When you sign-up, commit and pay for a series you are responsible to play all 12 rounds. A “no-show “ on any tournament day will forfeit all entry fees to that tournament. He may however finish the other days of that tournament if he so chooses. A verified medical condition or other acceptable reason will be dealt with by the committee on a case-by-case basis.
- Postponements - The tournament will be considered official if 36 holes have been completed in a 54-hole event. In such cases, the full purse will be paid for that event. If a tournament is shortened to less than 54 holes and there is a tie for first place, a playoff will be held to determine a winner. If a playoff is not possible due to weather or any other circumstance, the tied players will split the payout evenly. If less than 36-holes have been completed in 54-hole event, the tournament will be cancelled and re-scheduled at the most convenient date on the schedule.
- Dangerous Weather - Suspension of Play - Play may be suspended for such dangerous situations such as lighting, rain, fog, or wind. In dangerous conditions, players must discontinue immediately and not resume until the Committee orders. The penalty for breach of this condition is disqualification.
All practice areas shall be closed during a suspension of play.
Note: One prolonged siren or horn signals a suspension for a dangerous situation.
- Return Checks - The NCPGT will charge $50 fee for any returned checks or other items.
Waiver/Participation Conditions
You must also agree to the following statement to compete in this tour.
I request permission to participate as a Player at NorCal Pro Golf Tour Tournaments, I agree to abide by all the rules and regulations adopted and published by the NorCal Pro Golf Tour relating to the operation and conduct of the Tournament and the use of the facilities provided by the Tournament. I understand that my failure to observe these rules may result in my being excluded from participation at the Tournament.
I represent that I am physically able to participate as a player at the Tournament. I fully understand and agree that my participation at the Tournament may entail the risk of physical injury to myself or others. I agree to assume all such risk and to waive any claim of any kind whatsoever, whether resulting from an injury or otherwise, rising from my participation at the Tournament and driving to and from the Tournament. I further agree to release, indemnify and hold harmless the NorCal Pro Golf Tour, any golf facility and their respective directors, officers, employees, agents and/or representatives from any and all liability occurring at the Tournament or to and from the Tournament.
I will be personally responsible for any financial cost incurred as a result of my participation at the Tournament, including, without limitations, transportation or medical expenses incurred as a result of any injury.
I understand that NorCal Pro Golf Tour assumes no liability of lost, misplaced, stolen and/or damaged personal property and I hereby agree to release the NorCal Pro Golf Tour and any golf facilities from any such liability.
NorCal Pro Golf Tour may use my name and picture supplied by me for marketing, media and promotional purposes.
